{ Chillin in Napa } – Tracey and Brad in Napa Valley

Tracey and Brad are a rockin’ couple. So much fun to be around, it really was a pleasure shooting this past weekend in Napa with them. We started out in beautiful Calistoga in some off the wall location and finished up with a memorable experience at Vincent Arroyo winery. I discovered Vincent Arroyo on my Honeymoon and fell in love with the property, the wine and the experience of this winery. I mean how often do you get to sit on the winemakers porch and sip wine with him? Vincent was gracious enough to allow us to shoot on his property and even gave my clients a private little tasting after hours. We can’t thank him enough and really had such a memorable time with him. We even nabbed some killer shots on his property.. double bonus!! Thank you to brad and Tracey for the fun shoot and I can’t wait for October!

{ Pretty Preeti } – Prateek and Preeti at Camelback

Preeti and Prateek are to be wed, in what promises to be an amazing event this September. One of my favorite aspects of my job is being exposed to so many different cultures, traditions, foods, viewpoints, etc.. I love that I get to learn about so many different ways of life and I am honored that Preeti and Prateek chose me to photograph their Sikh wedding celebration. I met with The couple this weekend at the Temple they will be married in to go over some general housekeeping and then we head off to the fabulous Monte Lucia and finished up on Camelback Mountain. We were all concerned it would rain, and it did throughout the valley, but we were spared and aside from the mild humidity, we had great weather for the shoot. I couldn’t ask for better, especially in August in Arizona Thanks again Prateek and Preeti, can’t wait for the big day(s) !!!

{ So In Love } – Chris and Lianne’s Heritage Square Engagement Photos

Chris and Lianne are getting married at DC Ranch this upcoming September, so we decided to brave the heat and do their engagement photos in July. It was hot, but luckily we didn’t melt away, and we survived to show the results of our time together. Chris and Lianne are just so nice, and fun to be around. I know their wedding is going to be a blast.. Hey any couple that packs up and moves across country for no other reason then they felt like it.. has to be my kind of laid back couple Thanks again guys!

{ Sneaky Little Devils } – Jennifer and Jim’s Sun Devil Stadium Engagement Session

Jennifer and Jim are die hard, 15 year ticket holding, Sun Devils Fan’s. Through the thick and thin, rain snow and hail, good and bad, Jennifer and Jim are there rooting the team on. Face paint, pom poms and beer in hand. The two actually met at a game and the rest is history. Well, miss bright eyes felt that 6 am on a Friday morning would be the perfect time for an engagement shoot at the stadium, haha.. Jim and I felt a little different, but we obliged.. it is hard to say no to such an enthusiastic morning person, Love ya Jen!

We met outside the stadium to grab a few external shots and while there we began to peer longingly into the gate, just wishing that somehow we could be inside the stadium to grab just one shot. We asked a couple players who were there for their morning weight lifting routine, and we were shot down, so we went stealth. We snuck in an open door.. Ok so it was not really sneaking. The door was completely unlocked, we just walked in, lol. Before we knew it we were walking down the halls so many great players have walked, and then we saw it.. the door to the tunnel!! AHHHH insert angel voices here. Jim and I, a little timid and not wanting to get in trouble, quietly snuck through the halls.. and then it happened.. unknown members of the team, be it maintenance, trainers, we didn’t know.. began to walk towards us. I thought.. this is it.. we are kicked out.. we were so close !! Then Jennifer in her perky voice said to them.. can we get into the field to take a few photos? and the gates to heaven opened. They said sure.. just prop the door so you don’t get locked out, HAHA! YES!! What resulted was magic. I know Jennifer and Jim will remember this session for a long time coming. I had a blast this morning with you both! Can’t wait for the wedding

{ Urban Fun } – Meg and Jacob’s Mill Avenue Engagement Photos

Meg and her fiance Jacob met me this past weekend in downtown Mill Avenue for some fun urban engagement photos. We got to search the back alley ways and found some really cool places while doing so. It was a lot of fun and we had a blast people watching all the visitors at the Greek Food Festival that was going on while waiting for sunset on the Mill Bridge. The two are heading up to Utah in June to seal their marriage! Congratulations to the both of you

{ Natural } – Teaunee and Fran in the Desert of Cave Creek

Teaunee and I go way back, I think way back to 4th grade was it? We were both involved int he Cheer and Pom dance lines at our high school. When I ran into her at our high school reunion, it was so great to see her so happy, standing next to Fran. I knew he had to be a great guy cause Tea looked so happy with him. After spending an afternoon hiking in high heals, getting stabbed by cacti, loosing flip flops and being spooked by the creepy animal sounds coming from nearby, I can say that Fran is one awesome guy. { So In Love } – Heather and Max at the Desert Botanical Gardens

So you read about, mostly in romance novels, the type of love that you just cant keep your hands off each other. Where rainbows beam out your eyes when your partner touches you, and bluebirds are always singing outside your window! I had the chance of witnessing, first hand last night, that this type of love really does exist. Where men carry around our over sized and over stuffed Gold Marc Jocobs bags and don’t complain, and kiss their wives passionately and mean it. Heather and Max, you are adorable! I had so much fun with you guys last night, and I am so happy just thinking of photographing your wedding. A beautiful couple on the inside and out who found each other and are madly in love.. there is nothing more this life can offer than the companionship of a true soul mate.. you are lucky my friends. See you soon! Oh and Max took the one of me pretending to be a munchkin

{ Improv } – Gina and Drew at the JW Marriott

The story is funny, now that I look back on it, but man were we ticked off last night! Let me rewind a tad and go to the beginning. Drew is an old friend from high school, and I met his fiance Gina at our 10 year high school reunion… don’t try to figure my age.. I will never admit it. Gina and I hit it off immediately and when she asked me to photograph their wedding I was so excited. Gina is into photography herself, and I see so many of the same traits I had when I began in Gina. I knew I wanted to help her grow as much as my schedule allowed, so Gina began coming along with me to photo shoots, helping me in any way she could. Now Gina has her own photography business and I am so proud of her! I am so lucky to have met a wonderful friend along this journey that brought us to last night, and I am thankful that I was standing at the closed gates of boojum tree with such good friends. Yes I said CLOSED gates!! Gina and Drew had chosen the Boojum Tree Hidden Garden for their engagement session, she had called and reserved a space and paid their deposit, so we were shocked when we pulled up to the gates and they were closed and locked for the night! We called, no one answered, and so we decided to head over to the JW Marriott for some photos. We had no idea if we would be allowed on property, but with the sun setting and time running out, we were prepared to ask for forgiveness over permission. Below are what transpired from the evening. I really must say, I am happy that we had to go off course. The pics came out sooo amazing, and I am happy that it was Gina I was standing with at those gates. I can’t wait for your wedding! I honestly consider you a wonderful friend of mine Gina.. tell Drew to take care of my grasshopper or I will get very angry

{ Silly Friends } – Melissa and Victor at the Botanical Gardens

I say it a lot, that I love my job, but some days I do love it more than others. Melissa and Victor were one of those couples that made me really love my job. They just ” got ” me and it made it so easy to work with them. For those of you who have worked with me, you know I love having fun and making my clients laugh. I will dance, tell silly jokes and just do about anything to keep you smiling the entire time we are shooting. In fact.. many people leave with sore faces and ribs from laughing so much.. That is how our photo shoot was with Melissa and Victor. Even these self proclaimed, un-photogenic, awkward in front of the camera clients ( which they were NOT) turned into be such a FUN couple to work with I can’t wait to laugh and cry with you at your wedding!

{ TNT } – Tempe Town Lake Engagements

This is the second session that I have had with these two. Tina really wanted to incorporate her dog into the shoot, which is something we weren’t able to do the first go around. We decided to shoot in Tempe Town lake.. and were almost rained out TWICE for the re shoot. But we decided that even though it was pouring that day, somehow the sky would clear and we would have an hour to get out shots in.. and guess what! It was sunny and gorgeous!
